Participation of a representative of the
Accreditation Body of Montenegro at the
48th meeting of the Inspection Committee

A representative of the Accreditation Body of Montenegro participated in the 48th meeting of the Inspection Committee (EA IC), held on 18 March 2025 in Budapest, organised by the Hungarian Accreditation Body (NAH).

The meeting was attended by 60 representatives of national accreditation bodies and interested parties.

Members of the Committee discussed the draft of the new international standard ISO/IEC 17020, which is expected to enter into force at the beginning of 2026.

The changes relate to:

  • definitions, particularly in the case of defining the type of inspection body (Type A and Type non-A);
  • new requirements in the standard relating, for example, to the application of validation of inspection methods;
  • feedback from personnel;
  • application of artificial intelligence;
  • statements in inspection reports/certificates;
  • evaluation of risks and threats in the area of impartiality;
  • new terminology compared to the currently applicable standard.

Following the review of frequently asked questions (FAQ), the participants agreed that numerous questions from EA IC members should be published on a dedicated webpage for frequently asked questions.
