The President of the European co-operation for accreditation (EA), Ms Maureen Logghe, paid a working visit to the Accreditation Body of Montenegro (ATCG), where she met with the Director Anita Krulanović and the staff of the Accreditation Body of Montenegro.

During the meeting, the work, role and responsibilities of ATCG were presented, as well as current activities in the field of accreditation, with particular reference to the implementation of Regulation (EC) No 765/2008, which regulates the operation of accreditation bodies in the European Union and CEFTA signatory countries.

Discussions were held on the challenges faced by accreditation bodies in their daily work, the improvement of visibility and promotion of accreditation, as well as the need for its stronger inclusion in the legislative framework, bearing in mind that accreditation represents a key mechanism for confirming the competence of conformity assessment bodies.

Experiences were also exchanged, with particular reference to models and examples of good practice applied by the Belgian accreditation body, especially in the area of developing and expanding the network of users of accreditation services.

The EA President praised the work of ATCG, highlighting the significant progress achieved through the signing of the Multilateral Agreement with the European co-operation for accreditation, as well as the active participation of ATCG representatives in EA working groups, which further confirms the credibility and professional engagement of the institution.
