Representatives of the Accreditation Body of Montenegro (ATCG) attended the official semi-annual meetings of the governing bodies and technical committees of the newly established international accreditation organization, Global Accreditation Cooperation Incorporated (Global ACI), held from 20 to 26 April 2026 in Prague, Czech Republic.
The ATCG delegation, as an Associate Member of Global ACI, participated in the work of the Accreditation Committee and the General Assembly, where topics of strategic importance for the future development of the international accreditation system and the strengthening of the global quality infrastructure were discussed.
During the meetings, special emphasis was placed on the harmonization of international accreditation rules and procedures, the enhancement of mutual recognition of accreditations within the framework of the Global ACI MRA agreement, as well as the development of new areas of accreditation addressing contemporary challenges in the fields of sustainability, digital security, and business integrity.
The discussions focused on regulatory trends, cross-border recognition of accredited results, cooperation among national accreditation bodies, and the improvement of the use of data and international documents within the new Global ACI system. Particular importance was also given to strengthening cooperation with international organizations in the fields of standardization, metrology, and conformity assessment.
At the General Assembly, resolutions significant for the further development of the international accreditation community were adopted, new members were admitted, and the organization’s governance structure was further enhanced. The new name, logo, and identity of Global ACI were also officially presented, marking a new phase in the development of the global accreditation system following the merger of the former international organizations ILAC and IAF.
ATCG’s participation in these important international meetings confirms its continuous commitment to improving the national accreditation system, its active involvement in international accreditation developments, and its contribution to strengthening confidence in the competence and quality of conformity assessment services at the international level.
