Representatives of the Accreditation Body of Montenegro (ATCG) participated in the international seminar "Standardization, Accreditation and Certification", held from 4 to 17 June 2026 in Chengdu and Beijing, People's Republic of China.

The seminar brought together experts in the fields of standardization, accreditation and certification with the aim of exchanging knowledge, strengthening professional competencies and fostering international cooperation within the quality infrastructure system.

The opening ceremony featured welcome addresses by representatives of the Chengdu Institute of Standardization, as well as by Ms. Anita Krulanović, Director of the Accreditation Body of Montenegro. In her address, Ms. Krulanović emphasized the importance of continuous professional development, keeping pace with international trends, and strengthening cooperation between the institutions of Montenegro and the People's Republic of China in the fields of standardization, accreditation and certification.

The seminar programme included a series of expert lectures covering international standardization, the role of international organizations such as ISO, IEC and ITU, conformity assessment systems, the World Trade Organization Agreement on Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT), China's Compulsory Certification System (CCC), as well as current developments in laboratory testing, environmental protection and sustainable development. Particular emphasis was placed on the application of international standards across various sectors and their role in improving the quality of products and services, protecting consumers and enhancing economic competitiveness.

In addition to the theoretical programme, participants visited leading Chinese institutes, laboratories and certification bodies, including the Chengdu Institute of Product Quality Inspection, Chengdu Institute of Metrology Verification and Testing, Chengdu Institute of Food Inspection, China Quality Mark Certification Group (CQM) and the China Quality Certification Center (CQC). These technical visits provided valuable insights into the operation of accredited laboratories, the practical implementation of internationally recognized standards, quality management systems and conformity assessment procedures.

The seminar offered an excellent opportunity to exchange experience with experts from different institutions and countries, establish new professional contacts and learn from international best practices in the field of quality infrastructure. The knowledge and experience gained will contribute to the further development of the Accreditation Body of Montenegro, strengthen the professional competencies of its staff and support the implementation of international best practices in the fields of accreditation, standardization and certification.
